Training Up Boys

Something about the simplicity of this train painting was too perfect for boys.  I got the idea for turning the word "train" into an actual engine while watching Word World with my own boys.  I hope Brittany and her boys enjoy it for years!

Bright Colors for Brothers

I'm somewhat partial to biblical names...  So, I love doing paintings for children whose names are directly in a scripture.  Noah and Joshua both were like this.  They turned out so perfect for little men of God!

Since I Last Posted...

I closed "shop" in 2011 when I was 4 months pregnant with my 3rd child.  He's now 8 months old and has joined our house FULL of boys!  His brothers are 3 1/2 and 2 1/2, and he is making his mark in this family as the joyful, easy one of the bunch.  I stay busy here at home, and at any given moment, you can find me playing with Thomas the Train or Lightning McQueen, singing praise songs and making or own "stage," or pretending to be shopping with our mini grocery cart and play food.  It's a fun life, and I'm certain that these are the best days of my life.

BUT, I'll admit that I miss painting and embroidering from time to time.  So, every now and then, I make time to craft.  I manage to fit in a few minutes here and there, but crafting now is not a priority and I've had to learn that.  My family comes first, but I sure do enjoy using the other gifts God has given me.  I'm crafting, just at a slow pace, and in the next few posts, you'll see what I've been up to since I last posted.

Thanks for following and supporting!

A Prayerful Decision

I have made a very prayerful decision in regards to my paintings.  While I certainly believe God called me to this a few years ago, I feel as though He is now telling me that my time to paint is over.  With the sweet responsiblity of raising two children and with a third on its way, it is best that I get to work on the precious canvases in my life.

My family has not always come first when it comes to painting.  I have often made them wait while I finish this or that painting or while I stay awake in the early hours of the morning making certain the details are perfect.  My husband and children do not deserve my leftovers...  They are to get the very best of me, and to be honest, painting has taken that from them.

So, with that being said, Gifts of God Paintings will be closing at the end of 2011.  The blog will remain open so that I can continue to showcase the gifts and talents God allows me to share with others, but as for taking orders and creating any new paintings, I will no longer be doing so.  I hope to finish my current wait list by the end of this year, so I cannot take any new orders.

Thank you for understanding and supporting this small gift of mine.  You have blessed me with your love and kindness.

Blessings,
Jenna
