A Farmer's Son

I must be honest in saying that this particular Gift meant the world to me. This baby's late grandfather was my uncle, Gerald, who passed away in 2006. You can read my post about losing him here.

To my surprise, Gunner is expected to arrive just ONE DAY before his grandfather's birthday (which is the same as mine). The baby will have his grandfather's initials and middle AND last name. After getting the invite to the baby shower, I thought long and hard on what I wanted this painting to look like. I loved the Sweet Safari bedding and wanted the painting to correspond, but I also REALLY wanted to give the Gift a touch of John Deere green and yellow... in honor of baby's daddy and late grandfather. I didn't realize it until it was finished, but the leaf I included from the bedding just so happens to look like a tobacco leaf... This Gift of God is a 10x10 canvas, with a hidden message inside Psalm 127:3.
