A Little Off the Painting Path...

Don't worry.  I'm still painting.  A LOT, to be exact.

The upcoming holiday has made its way onto my Gifts of God wait list, and I've painted more than I can actually share (just yet).  However, what I can share with you is the fact that Christmas is right around the corner.  I've been doing all I can to prepare, which pretty much consists of painting and shopping.

More importantly, I have been taking pictures like crazy.  Around this time of year, I can't help but be on the hunt for the perfect "Christmas Card" photo.  With two babies, 19 months and 6 months, it's almost impossible to get a decent one.  It's important to me that our cards revolve around the blessings GOD has given us.  I always choose a religious card because this truly is what Christmas means to us...

We've been known to send creative cards since marrying in 2007.  In fact, our 2007 card was a wedding picture with a "Thank You" to our friends, family, and Lord for all they'd done for us during our celebration that year.  Our 2008 Christmas card showed a picture of my husband and me with a small ultrasound picture of our first son who would arrive the following April!  Our 2009 card announced we'd be having another boy!  Just seems to me that Christmas cards are the perfect way to update ALL of our loved ones on the blessings we've received.

This year's card will have no surprises...  Honestly, it will just be us, thankful and blessed.  I'm excited though because for the first time, I'm ordering from Shutterfly.  Their selection is HUGE!  I'm even ordering Christmas gifts for grandparents from there as well, and here's a small hint at what I'll be buying:  http://www.shutterfly.com/calendars/desk-calendars .

Here are two of the religious Christmas cards I am deciding between for OUR family:

Which do you like best?  Go here to look at more of Shutterfly's collection of Christmas cards:  http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-cards

And, for future reference to myself, I'd really like to use one of these if the Lord grants us more children:  http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/birth-announcements
You should use these to announce your next GIFT FROM GOD!

Stay tuned for our family's Shutterfly greeting to you!

I got our card from Shutterfly too. It's also important to me that our card has religion in it. Nothing irks me more than a "Happy Holidays" card. What's the point in celebrating if we can't expressly state exactly what or (WHO) it is we are celebrating? Hope you guys have a Merry CHRISTmas and it was good to see you and your precious babies!

One of those red paintings in the top picture is proudly hanging in my living room! I was so excited I almost cried when Erin gave it to me for my birthday (I didn't mind one bit that it was an early gift!). Your stuff is even more beautiful in real life than in the pictures!

And I agree--a card that specifically mentions Christmas is so very important to my husband and me. That's why we celebrate. That's why we live!
